From January 15 to 16, 2025, Universitas Indonesia successfully conducted a two-day training program titled “Pelatihan Teknisi Pengujian Kekuatan Beton” (Concrete Strength Testing Technician Training). Organized by the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, this initiative aimed to enhance the skills and expertise of professionals and practitioners in evaluating the quality and strength of concrete. With a mix of theoretical insights and practical laboratory exercises, the program provided participants with a holistic understanding of concrete testing standards and methods, vital for ensuring the safety and durability of construction materials.

The training commenced on the first day with an in-depth review of key theoretical concepts related to concrete strength testing. Topics included bonded and unbonded concrete capping methods, compressive strength tests, and flexural strength tests. Expert trainers emphasized the importance of adhering to standardized testing protocols to guarantee accuracy and reliability. After the theoretical sessions, participants proceeded to hands-on practice in the Civil Engineering Laboratory. This practical component allowed them to apply their newly acquired knowledge directly, under the supervision of experienced instructors, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of testing procedures.

Day two focused on certification, with participants undergoing rigorous written and practical examinations. The written exam tested their understanding of theoretical concepts, while the practical assessment evaluated their proficiency in conducting strength testing procedures. The certification process ensured that all participants met industry standards and were equipped to perform high-quality evaluations in real-world scenarios. The program concluded with an awarding session, recognizing participants who successfully completed the training and demonstrated excellence in their assessments.

This training program underscored Universitas Indonesia’s commitment to advancing construction quality standards in Indonesia.
