As part of the BINUS Engineering Week 2026 series, the Faculty of Engineering at BINUS University organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for Alumnae and Industry to foster meaningful dialogue between academic institutions, alumni, and industry professionals. The event served as a platform to exchange insights, discuss current engineering challenges, and explore future opportunities for collaboration in creating innovative and sustainable solutions.

Held at BINUS University Anggrek Campus, Jakarta, the FGD brought together engineering alumnae, industry representatives, academics, and faculty members. Through open discussion sessions, participants shared experiences regarding industry demands, technological advancements, workforce readiness, and the evolving role of engineering education in supporting global development.

The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between universities and industry sectors to ensure graduates are equipped with relevant competencies, practical skills, and adaptability to rapidly changing technological environments. Contributions from alumnae also provided valuable perspectives on career development, professional growth, and real-world applications of engineering knowledge.

The FGD was conducted as one of several activities within BINUS Engineering Week 2026, a two-day event taking place on 12–13 May 2026, featuring various programs including Technology Exhibitions, Industry Talkshows, Academic Seminars, Poster Competitions, and Alumni Gatherings. The event aims to bridge academia and industry while encouraging innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration in engineering disciplines.

Beyond knowledge sharing, the FGD created opportunities to expand professional networks, initiate collaborative projects, and strengthen long-term relationships among stakeholders. Such interactions are expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering education and support the development of future engineers capable of addressing global challenges.

Through initiatives like this, BINUS Engineering Week 2026 reflects BINUS University’s commitment to promoting impactful collaboration and preparing engineering communities to contribute toward a more sustainable and innovative future.
