Improving Livable Housing: Pilot Survey Begins in Semanan with DPRKP
As part of efforts to improve the quality of residential areas, the Department of Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP) has initiated a pilot housing survey in collaboration with the Semanan Urban Village in 25th March 2025. This initiative serves as an initial step in mapping the current conditions of residents’ homes, which will later inform targeted housing improvement programs.
The survey covers assessments of the physical condition of houses, habitability, and access to basic utilities such as clean water, sanitation, and electricity. In addition, the survey team collects socioeconomic data of the residents to support future planning and aid distribution.
This pilot is expected to become a reference model for similar efforts in other areas, aiming to deliver more accurate and data-driven housing programs. The residents of Semanan have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that it will bring positive changes to their living environment.
Through active collaboration between local government, urban village officials, and the community, this program marks a concrete step toward achieving livable housing and improved settlement areas in West Jakarta.
