BINUS Civil Engineering Visit Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia
On January 15th, 2025, lecturers from the Engineering Department of BINUS University conducted a company visit to Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI). This visit aimed to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry while providing valuable insights into the latest manufacturing practices and technologies. The activity was designed to align academic perspectives with industrial advancements, fostering opportunities for future partnerships.
The event began at the PMI lobby, where the lecturers were warmly welcomed by the Human Resources team. The program proceeded in the function room with an opening speech by a representative from BINUS University, followed by a presentation on the Faculty of Engineering at BINUS. Ibu Eny Handayani from PMI then introduced the company profile, emphasizing Panasonic’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in its manufacturing processes.
After a safety induction session, the lecturers were given a factory tour, visiting the AC and Refrigerator Business Units. These tours provided a close-up view of Panasonic’s state-of-the-art production lines and stringent quality control processes. The visit continued to PT PGLSMID, where participants explored the company’s large-scale manufacturing operations and gained insights into the integration of advanced technology in their workflows.
This visit provided BINUS Civil Engineering lecturers with an opportunity to understand industry needs and trends, enhancing their ability to prepare students for the professional world.
