Loviandy Rusli in PT. Caturbina Guna Persada

Loviandy is currently in interning in PT. Caturbina Guna Persada on the Ancol Sentiong Pump House Construction Project.

DKI Jakarta Province is located on the Ciliwung River delta and has a population of more than 11 million people. Flood conditions in DKI Jakarta have become a national problem and the losses due to floods are very large. For this reason, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is trying to tackle flooding on a wide scale. The drainage system which currently flows by gravity has become problematic due to the subsidence of the soil at the site. Therefore, a polder system is needed to overcome the drainage in these areas. By using the polder system, the water level will be adjusted using a pump. The Ancol Sentiong Pump House Construction Project carried out by PT Wijaya Karya and PT Jaya Konstruksi as contractors together with PT Caturbina Guna Persada as a consultant aims to deal with flooding and inundation problems in the Utan Kayu area and Sentiong as well as assisting flood management in the Pademangan area. This is because the condition of the old Ancol Pump House system was not sufficient to pump water from the Ciliwung River, Gunung Sahari, and Kampung Bandan.

“My role in this internship is as Quality Control. Quality Control is tasked with conducting periodic monitoring with the aim of supervising the development so that it is in accordance with the standards and technical specifications applied. In addition, Quality Control is also tasked with inspecting and maintaining the quality of work in accordance with predetermined agreements and standards, inspecting tools, testing the quality of items to be used and conducting feasibility tests on work results in the laboratory or field.
The activities that I did during my internship were testing the compressive strength of concrete at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Trisakti University and the Sapta Taruna College of Technology, conducting early strength tests of concrete at the Concrete Build Solution Batching Plant and monitoring work in the field which included inspection of reinforcement fabrication for secant piles, supervision of secant pile drilling and casting, slump test for secant pile casting, culvert box inspection, stressing test for ground anchor and penetrant test for extension pipe.”
